The DIAGNOSTIC REVIEW OF DESIGN IN BRAZIL is now available in English. The purpose of the study is to create a reference for the development of the industry and also provide support for the development of design policies in the country. Currently, design is considered an important link between the industry and market by directly influencing the development of products perceived as superior in quality.
To develop the study, Centro Brasil Design was commissioned by the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (MDIC) through the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brazil). This is the first time that a study like this was developed in Brazil.
The diagnosis allowed to evaluate the understanding of design in industrial and service sectors. It also shows possible scenarios for the future of design in Brazil by the year 2020. The document also presents indicators, international references and contributions from experts and opinion leaders.
The preview of the study was presented to experts in Sao Paulo and their contributions were incorporated into it. The final result was presented in Brasilia, in June 2014.
