The Design Brasil website was set up by the Ministério do Desenvolvimento, da Indústria e Comércio Exterior - MDIC ( Brazil's Ministry of Development, Industry and International Commerce ) through the Programa Brasileiro de Design - PBD (the Brazilian Program of Design), in conjunction with the SENAI (Brazil’s National Industrial Training Service) and the Sebrae (Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service).

The website aims to promote the integration, the convergence, and greater cooperation amongst the various actions and programs carried out in the realm of Brazilian design.

The Design Brasil website will therefore foster a more intensive interaction and greater exchange of information amongst professionals, students of design and businessmen as well as all individuals and organizations that live and breath design in the country.
